ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Clifford D. [“Cliff”] Conner is a historian of science and a biographer of revolutionaries. He is the author of the acclaimed A People’s History of Science and is on the editorial board of The International Encyclopedia of Revolution and Protest. He is currently on the faculty of the School for Professional Studies of the City University of New York Graduate Center. In addition to two biographies of Jean Paul Marat, he has written biographies of two eighteenth-century Irish revolutionaries, Colonel Edward Marcus Despard and Arthur O’Connor.
Cliff grew up in Nashville, Tennessee, received his undergraduate degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and his Ph.D. from the City University of New York Graduate Center, and now lives on the Upper West Side of Manhattan with his wife, Marush.
